Prompt
Make a word meaning quiz for everyday English words. Make it a single HTML file that opens in a browser with nothing to install and no other files. Put the CSS and JavaScript inside it. Do not use image files or any external address; use emoji or letters if you need a symbol. Show a word and four possible meanings. One is right. A quiz is 10 questions. Put about forty words with their meanings directly in the code. For each question, take the three wrong choices from other words in the list rather than inventing them — that keeps them plausible. When I answer, mark it right or wrong straight away and show the correct meaning before moving on. Shuffle which position the right answer sits in. If the answer is always in the same place, the quiz teaches nothing. At the end show my score and which words I missed. When you are done, play through twice and check the right answer is not always in the same position.
What it uses: One file only · Say what it is first · Give an example · Pin down what not to do
If the wrong choices are obviously wrong, ask it to "pick distractors from words of similar length and topic".
