Make a shopping list, grouped by aisle. Make it a single HTML file that opens in a browser with nothing to install and no other files. Put the CSS and JavaScript inside it. Do not use image files or any external address; use emoji or letters if you need a symbol. Type an item and press enter to add it. Tap an item to cross it off; tap again to bring it back. Crossed items drop to the bottom rather than vanishing, in case I change my mind at the till. Make the tap targets big. This gets used one-handed, with a basket in the other hand. Add a "clear the crossed ones" button and a count of what is left. Everything I enter stays after the browser is closed and reopened, and none of it leaves my browser. When you are done, check that crossing something off does not shift the list under my finger.
