Prompt
Make a text counter for a social media post. Make it a single HTML file that opens in a browser with nothing to install and no other files. Put the CSS and JavaScript inside it. Do not use image files or any external address; use emoji or letters if you need a symbol. A big box to paste or type into. Underneath, show characters, words, sentences, and how long it takes to read out loud at a normal speaking pace. The limit is 280 characters. Show how much is left as a bar that fills up, and turn it a warning colour as I get close and a clear colour when I go over. Count characters the way a person would — an emoji is one character, not two. Keep what I typed after the browser is closed and reopened. When you are done, paste something with emoji and check the count matches what you can see.
What it uses: One file only · Say what it is first · Decide what shows
If emoji are counted as two, ask it to "count by visible characters, not by code units".
